I'm convinced that the experience of God, such as Jesus offers and communicates, always instils an unmistakable peace in our heart in spite of being full of concerns, fears and insecurities. This peace is almost always the best sign that we have listened to God's call from the depths of our being: «Don't be afraid, there no comparison between you and the sparrows». How to come close to that God?

Maybe what's first is to stop to experience God only as love. All that is born of God is love. From God alone life, peace and good come to us. I can separate myself from God and forget God's love, but God doesn't change. The change is only produced in me. God never stops loving me.

There's something even more moving. God loves me unconditionally, just as I am. I don't have to earn God's love. I don't have to conquer God's heart. I don't have to change or be better in order to be loved by God. Rather, knowing that God loves me this way, I can change, grow and be good.

Now I can think in my life: what does God ask of me? What does God expect of me? Only that I learn to love. I don't know where I'll find myself and what decisions I will have to make, but God only expects that I love the persons I'm with and seek their good, that I love myself and treat myself well, that I love life and make the effort to make it more dignified and human for everyone. That I be sensitive to love.

There's something that I mustn't forget. I will never be alone. All of us «live, move and exist» in God. God will always be that understanding and demanding presence that I need, that strong hand that will sustain me in weakness, that light that will guide me through God's paths. God will always invite me to walk saying «yes» to life. One day, when I end my pilgrimage through this world, I will know peace and rest, life and freedom next to God.
